I am thinking of purchasing a Dr Denese skin resurfacing machine. I am interested mainly in seeing my age spots fade! This is not mentioned in the literature. Can anyone tell me about their experience in this area,
Good morning Diana.
Thank you for your question. The Resurfacing System is an at home microdermabrasion machine and microdermabrasion does help reduce the appearance of age/sun spots over time. ow long and whether or not they will fully be removed depends on each person and the severity and depth of the concern. You should also keep in mind that using SPF every single day is the absolute most important step in continuing to prevent your age/sun spots from darkening and becoming more apparent. Even if you remove them completely you will still need to use SPF every day to help prevent more from coming to the surface.
We would also like to recommend the Damage Reversal Pads to you. The active ingredient in the Damage Reversal Pads is hydroquinone. Hydroquinone works by decreasing the production and increasing the breakdown of melanosomes (melanin pigment granules) in the skin's pigment cells (melanocytes). It does this by inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase, the enzyme needed to make melanin. Simply: it targets the overproduction of melanin and will lighten only these areas. For this product to work you must use it every night, skipping two nights every 20 days. You want to use it after cleansing and exfoliating so as to ensure it penetrates to the deepest layers of the skin. After using the Damage Reversal Pads allow about 4 minutes before applying your other serums or creams.
Using these two products together would be an excellent choice and very beneficial.
Have a great day :)

The resurfacing machine alone will not help fade the spots. I recommend first trying Dr. Denese Advanced Firming Pads and HydroShield Face Serum along with the SPF30 Day Cream. I highly recommend adding the Rx Transforming Peel once a week to your regimen. I have found these products extremely effective and especially noticed my spots fade after using these products.
I have long been getting professional diamond microdermabrasion treatments. They did not produce the results of fading spots. Now, after using the aforementioned Dr. Denese products, I do find softer skin and fine lines, wrinkles less visible after a professional diamond microderm treatment. I don't think the treatment itself does much to fade the spots...I believe the products are the key.
Dr. Denese has a HYDROQUINONE product, that ingredient is known to help fade spots. It takes time - and you must be dedicated to using it daily, 2x a day.
Most important: USE A BROAD SPECTRUM SPF30+ day cream. It is a MUST! The sun ages skin and really will promote darkening spots. BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 30 is mandatory. Especially if you use glycolic, retinol, hydroquinone, and resurfacing machines - the sun can really damage all the good you are doing. Dr. D's SFP30 Day is fantastic!!!! I love love love it.
